I am not on the list for those debating #CAB3 this week. The CCC Chief Whip removed me from the group where notices to debate are sent. However what’s important is the voting and i unequivocally reject the Bill in its entirety and will vote against it accordingly. #NoToCab3

The Constitutional Amendment Bill 3 #CAB3 has been read for the 1st time today in the House of Assembly. Tomorrow the debates begin….. as previously stated, I will vote against the bill in its totality

Met the new Auditor General this morning at Parliament, we discussed how we can improve and strengthen her office and also bring accountability in public finance management.

The Public Accounts Committee held an inquiry on 8 local authorities at Bulawayo Rainbow Hotel yesterday. Out of the 8, Bulawayo City and Kusile RDC will be summoned to Parliament for further investigations. Today 8 more Councils will appear before the Public Accounts Committee as we try to restore public finance accountability in local authorities. Hon C Matewu MP Chairperson Public Accounts Committee

The Public Accounts Committee will be stationed in Bulawayo between Thursday 28 May to Saturday 30 May. First as Chairperson of the Public Accounts Committee, I want to wholeheartedly thank Mai Kujinga who has been acting Auditor General of Zimbabwe for the past 3 years since the departure of Mildred Chiri. Mai Kujinga has done well to produce high quality reports which have been useful for us in executing our role; I wish her all the best. I want to also welcome Ms Chikwenhere in her new role as the Auditor General, she has the qualifications and I personally examined her interview results and previous experience before her confirmation by Parliament. I am confident she will carry out her new role with absolute due diligence.

It’s NOW or never. Come on you Gunners, we got this!

“Zimbabwe will not have a fuel crisis over the next six months. Our reserves are full, with over 540 million litres of fuel underground,” says Hon @cmatewu during a tour of the NOIC Mabvuku depot. He added that Parliament will support legislation to boost fuel pumping capacity and impose stiffer penalties on pipeline vandalism.
