CMU’s STORM (Student Training for Observational Research in Meteorology) program is giving students hands-on experience tracking and studying severe weather—now with expanded support through a new NSF grant.
Led by Jason Keeler, the program takes students to Beaver Island each summer to collect real-world data and gain field research experience you can’t get in a classroom

A CMU Earth and Ecosystem Science Ph.D. student has been awarded a prestigious Great Lakes Research Fellowship—one of only a few granted nationwide.
