Alpha sats are special: they end with eight zeros.
Remove those zeros, and you uncover the identifier of the Bitcoin they belong to.
Example:
Alpha sat 18525600000000
corresponds to the 185,256th minted bitcoin.
In the Rare Sats ecosystem, I like to say that Alpha sats are the soul of every bitcoin, carrying the identity of the coin from which they originate.
Back in 2023, new sat categories were popping up constantly, so a lot of us were skeptical whenever a new class appeared.
But Alphas and Omegas have stood the test of time.
These days, I mainly collect Alpha Uncommons.
