Ohio's Clermont Steel fabricated B&M's box spines, but the rails use German steel rolled in Italy. Shipping costs made importing these parts to Ohio—to build track and potentially ship it back out of the US—too expensive and inefficient with market shifts.
B&M has ended its 35-year track fabrication contract with Ohio's Clermont Steel Fabricators. As an engineering firm with no factories of its own, B&M is shifting all future roller coaster track manufacturing to its existing network of specialized European suppliers.
