Trinity ofrendas have been documented as early as 1994 in the Trinitonian, starting with the student organization MEChA (Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlán). In 2001, activist Emma Ortega spoke to the Trinity community on Día de los Muertos next to a Coates Center ofrenda.

In honor of Día De Los Muertos, the Student Diversity and Inclusion Office created an ofrenda in library lobby. Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is a holiday widely observed in Mexico, as well as in other countries, traditionally celebrated on November 1 and 2.💀
