I worked on Premiership coverage for 7 years, when content celebrating legal big hits were taken off air because of "optics".
I was regularly told I was "irresponsible" for talking about enjoying legal, codified violence as a key ingredient in rugby's sporting competition 2/3

The "football-ification" of rugby is going too far. Referees becoming the story when there's 80 minutes of rugby to dissect.
And the TV coverage is a catalyst. Everyone's guilty of it, but Stan Sports may be the most egregious culprits. Detracts from a great game #NZLvAUS
