Here's the thing: a nation is an extended family, we are all brethren alike. Family members do not threaten each other with violence, nor do they harbor such thoughts, nor should they talk about it. It's wrong on so many fundamental levels, I can't even begin.

Disagreeing, even strongly disagreeing, is one thing. Deciding to dehumanize the other side, deciding to denigrate them, is utterly wrong. That's how the long and winding path to internecine violence begins, folks. And that is gut-wrenchingly ignorant behavior.

Here's my thoughts: the police commissioner needs to be removed, he's clearly out of touch and offers BS reasons to justify what happened. The entire Starbucks staff in shift during the episode should be fired.
