So much for Emdash and anything built on it... #Emdash

The real power of WordPress comes from being easy to use, flexible, having gigantic ecosystems of plugins, themes, guides, developers, designers, all kinds of agencies providing all kinds of affordable services for any individual or any kind of business regardless of its size, and all of this creating a gigantic community. People building for people. You can't replicate this by just popping a new CMS like Emdash and posting it online. Even if you are a tech megacorp. And doing it through ChatGPT or Claude won't make an ecosystem happen. Ecosystems only come to being with trust, consistency, reliability and longevity. Not through the whim of a team and a few execs in a corporation. Such initiatives have no longevity because the execs move onto something else that will boost their chances at promotion before anyone can even say "Ecosystem"... #WordPress #Emdash #Claude #ChatGPT

The recent Vercel hack reveals exactly why we must resist web centralization and fight for democratization. Self-hosting should be as simple and accessible as possible, which is precisely the kind of independence WordPress has enabled for decades. #Vercel #WordPress

Shipping something like Emdash through models trained on pre-existing code is easy. But the real question is - does it solve any actual problem for users? Because from the users' perspective, what is under the hood rarely matters. Be it the latest programming paradigm, be it old, reliable code, they use it as long as it works reliably. Emdash looks like something built from a designer/programmer perspective - they thought that there were better paradigms, so they just created Emdash. A CMS built for programmers by programmers? The real difficulty is in understanding the users and solving their problems. Only projects that were able to do that have thrived in the past, whereas projects that lost connection with their users stagnated. WordPress community must not lose the sight of what is important: Its users. #WordPress #Emdash #Cloudflare #VibeCoding
