I tried out some Odin and I think I like it.
I think I just like simple programming languages.
And then there are times where I miss Java and writing final a million times. 🤷🏻♀️
I just watched this debacle at the mall of parents wanting to get their kid’s ears pierced and the kid didn’t want to.
So weird to watch but there was a line at the cash registers because the piercing lady was also the cashier.
Just go to a tattoo parlor. Way more sanitary.
My husband and I were talking about old friends from 18 years ago. I said "Oh yeah, Tony was super nice."
He laughed. I was like "What? He was nice!" and then my husband said "You know he had an Asian girl fetish right? He's a jerk."
This is why we can't have nice things.
'Cause they say
2000, zero-zero, coding over, oops, out of time
So tonight, I'm gonna code like it's 1999
I still like writing code. Especially late at night. In the dark. Laying in bed. Just me. My laptop. Fingers a-tingling.
I was coding until 3am last night. I haven't done that in awhile (I'm usually asleep earlier). No LLMs. It reminded me of pre-LLM days where my entire brain was in the code rather than half of my brain going "wait what did it do?"
I was a whole brained programmer, so to speak.
In competition for our children’s love, my husband said that they were the mostest special-est.
I told my kids “you know what’s one thing I gave you that dad can’t? Birth.”
I won. Hands down.
Seems luxurious compared to when I went to boot camp in 2004. Had to stand in a cattle trailer elbow to elbow. They at least have breathing room where you're not smelling other people's farts and burps.
I think I know what I want this to be now. I stopped working on it after a bit because it was just another editor. But now, I have a pretty clear idea. And it won't be just another editor.
I really like having LLMs as tutors I can mold to my learning style. I do this a lot when I read technical books and it’s been great (even if sometimes wrong).
My main focus in life lately has been working out 1 hour a day every day and building a project that is going to make me a ton of money.
And spending time with my kids. They got into playing piano and I accompany them on the guitar and it's so much fun. You wouldn't understand.
