There’s a fascinating early 70s book/film called Jonathon Livingston seagull about a “high agency” seagull who achieves self actualisation and enlightenment by forging his own path, as an allegory for the promise of individualism in American youth
I wrote about why being "high agency" is hot personality trait, and a new kind of individualism I see everywhere: one that valorizes action and especially risk. We're living in a gambler's time!
