If you’re young or unemployed right now: Don’t only search for jobs. Build a skill stack. The internet is a real economy, but only for people who can contribute value.

I keep seeing Africans repeat Silicon Valley advice: “University is useless. Just drop out and build.” I used to believe this too. Now I think the truth is more nuanced. A short thread 🧵

A degree alone won’t save you. But dismissing university entirely is risky advice in Africa. Use it strategically: - don’t rely on the curriculum - use the environment - build real skills alongside school

I wouldn’t be where I am today without university even though my career wasn’t built by it. Context matters. Choose your path with clarity, not trends. Hope this helps someone.
