Phew. What a year. Finally delivered my personal project and couldn’t be more proud. 🥰 Excited to be back in the mix of things here! What’s the latest scoop?

I’m so tired. I’m ready to be a trad wife and just worry about my sourdough and baseboards. Who needs databases and property modifiers.

At a cafe the other day. I asked for a “cup of joe” and then laughed at myself for asking for coffee like that. The waitress laughed too and then came back with a glass of orange juice. I said nothing, I was too embarrassed for her not knowing and for myself for being so old

Well friends, I wanted to share with you a side project I’ve been working hard on developing. It’s been going really well and I’m really excited to see the end product 🥹 If you want to help prepare for my baby here’s a registry link! amazon.com/baby-reg/erickali…

I’ve been so deep in QA at my role my Swift skills have deteriorated and I’m having feelings about it. I need to find a project I’m passionate about to lean into code again.

Having a team spread across the country is wild. One member is still recovering from the NC hurricane and is freezing, the other had to evacuate due to the California fires.

Imposter syndrome is common among developers. Remember: every expert was once a beginner, and growth happens step by step.

Recently, my grandma was dying in the hospital. I was watching all the family’s children in the waiting room. My 9yo cousin complained about the movie. I had my knitting project with me and sarcastically offered to teach her. She surprised me by excitedly accepting. 🧵

It tickled my heart, I’ve been leaving room in expectation that it might have just been something to do in a boring moment and not an actual interest. It was cool to hear she’s been seeking it out still. /6

Anyways. It was a beautiful full circle, similar age of learning a valuable skill from someone unexpected and building a sweet relationship as I was having one close with my grandma. It really is the tiny moments that touch hearts. 💕
