I've seen people quit the industry or saying they want to quit the industry often in the past few years. They say their peers have been cold to them.
Now, I understand completely that the industry does have many bad apples, jealous and cruel women etc. This does happen and it can be discouraging. I've been harassed and doxed by many of them. For 10 straight years. I could write not chapters, but entire books on individuals who have tried to harm me.
However I do believe sometimes its how you have been towards others that has greatly warranted the "coldness" you might have felt.
Not included in events or parties? It could be people felt the themes weren't your genre or you didn't have enough experience yet. Not because they didn't like you.
Have you done anything to anger or annoy others that painted you in a bad light? Have you ripped off the unique things other ppl were doing or created? Unique phrases on websites?
Have you behaved online in ways that seemed like you couldn't separate your private issues from your public work account, which as a result made you seem kind of unstable?
Are you confusing swers trying to have an educational discussion with you on a topic that they feel they have a different opinion on or are correcting you about politely but you are taking it the wrong way instead of being grateful and interactive?
Yeah. Those things.
Sometimes its not the bad apples but sometimes its the way you have been.
It can be very difficult for people to see this and many refuse to.
