The Cabo Verde national football team shocked Spain on the strength of a historic performance by goalkeeper Vozinha. His Mom was unable to be there because of visa complications. No mother should miss the chance to see her child make history. I have asked Secretary of State Marco Rubio to do everything in his power to ensure that she can attend Cabo Verde's next match on Sunday.

The UK economy basically works like this: Get paid £2,000. Give £900 to a landlord. Give £200 to the council. Give £150 to energy companies. Give £300 to supermarkets. Give £300 to car insurance and fuel. Spend the rest surviving until next payday. Then get lectured by someone who bought their house for £37,000 in 1988 about how you need to stop buying coffees and cancel subscriptions.

Partey's lawyer makes the case that there is a not guilty plea and Partey will have his day in court. That he is not subject of a travel ban. His passport hasn't been seized. Partey allowed entry to US.
Partey lawyer says application was filled by secondary party on his behalf so cannot be liable for absence of info on UK charges. Judge says case law shows if you sign doc it's yours. Recess for 15 mins

Thomas Teye Partey vs MCI - Stay Motion hearing has started . Judge Lafreniere sitting. Contrary to a lot of tweets you have seen here about a visa been granted, a proper outcome will be known AFTER this hearing.

Four years ago, what started as a dream became a conversation. A vision to create the Nigeria France Sports Awards in Paris, a platform to celebrate excellence, unite communities, and build bridges through sports. Along the way, I shared this dream with many people. Some became supporters, some became partners, some became family and some…. we fell apart. I will never forget the valuable input and encouragement from notable personalities - Netsai Kurangwah, Sola Aiyepeku, who was then the DG Lagos State Sports Commissioner, Biola Kazeem, Seun Ohai, Abiodun Odunuga and others. To my friends who stood by me during the difficult moments - Smith Layi, Titi Dele, Ola Lucas, Eng Femi Odunukàn, Japheth Omojuwa, Ayodeji (Baba Dudu) and so many others who believed enough to support not just with words, but even financially - thank you. Your faith in this vision kept it alive. To the footballers, athletes, and sports stakeholders who embraced the project from day one, thank you for helping turn an idea into a movement. Today, as we look back on this incredible journey, we are also looking ahead. This year marks the beginning of a new chapter. We are evolving from the Nigeria France Sports Awards into SOMETHING BIGGER, BOLDER, and even more IMPACTFUL. Stay tuned. The next phase is coming, and it’s going to be special.

🚨🚨| A Federal Court judge is scheduled to hear an injunction application from Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey today at 9AM ET. The hearing will consider Partey’s bid to overturn the decision preventing him from entering Canada because of rape and sexual assault charges in England. He’s pleaded not guilty to the charges. Ghana’s government has called the decision “extremely unfair” and vowed to pursue legal action to overturn it.

Hakimi, Mbappé, Ivan Toney & Partey all face various allegations of sexual misconduct, but only Partey has been barred by Canada. If the standard is about allegations, then it must be applied equally, not selectively. Anything else looks like obvious hypocrisy dressed up as justice. #FIFAWorldCup #Partey #Ghana

Community Update – Nigerian Family Affected by Devastating House Fire in Plymouth. (1) I visited the Nigerian Embassy in London earlier today, and I’m pleased to share that the embassy will support the family in getting their passports sorted as soon as possible on humanitarian grounds. (2) I also spoke with the family today and they’re deeply grateful to everyone who has donated, supported, and contributed through the GoFundMe, as well as those who have sent gifts. Your kindness truly means a lot. (3) The family is currently in urgent need of a 3-bedroom house in Plymouth. Unfortunately, they haven’t secured one yet. If you have any leads or recommendations, please send me a DM. Thank you all for your continued support 🙏
