Don't be afraid to make decisions quickly. You don't have to be 100% right 100% of the time. A decision is a starting point, typically with wiggle room to make it work. #cidmbp

Seek/provide "air cover". Protect your staff. Empower your managers to say no; back them up. Enlist your boss's backing. Realize that your discipline will likely be welcomed and respected by many. @tonimantych #cidmbp
Help find best solution. Determine if your team can and should assist. If not explain why and help find the right team, if so, set expectations. Remember, "not now" may be an appropriate response. @tonimantych #cidmbp
Evaluate relative priority. Be dispassionate and objective about prioritization, but empathetic about asks and needs. Use a consistent set of business-driven questions. Develop an intake questionnaire and prioritization matrix. @tonimantych #cidmbp

A considered no protects you. The right yes allows you to serve others, make a difference, collaborate successfully, and increase your influence. You want to gain a reputation for saying no at the right times for the right reasons and make every single yes count. #cidmbp
