Saudi officials have found an inscription in Madinah dating to the early Islamic period bearing the name of Umar ibn al-Khattab رضي الله عنه. It reads:
“Allah is the guardian of Umar ibn al-Khattab in this world and the hereafter.”
“Laa ilaaha illa Allah.”
