For the past several months, I’ve had a commission in the works that I’ve been dying to share details about. I agreed, however, to refrain from posting until the painting was completely finished. Not easy for me, particularly when I’m excited about a project.
Well, last week I was able to apply the final coat of varnish, this week I had the painting professionally photographed, and today, I am extremely excited to present:
‘Wendy the Welder’ 40x52 inches, oil on aluminum composite panel.
Inspired by and a modern day tribute to ‘Rosie the Riveter’ by Norman Rockwell, Wendy honors the technicians, integrators, and engineers who are tirelessly working to extend the reach of humanity to the Moon, Mars, and beyond.
