Thank you Commissioner Manny R. Ramirez of Precinct 4 for inviting me to attend and speak at the Tarrant County Commissioners Court on Tuesday to recognize the challenges that first responders and members of our armed forces face as it relates to post traumatic stress disorder. As our Commissioner, you continue to do amazing work on behalf of our profession and communities. Commissioner Ramirez brought the proclamation forward that was supported unanimously by the entire Court. Commissioner Matt Krause read the proclamation. This is important work as it relates to ensuring our law enforcement officers have the resources they need. Special thanks to Tracey Knight, MPA, MJur and Alicia Green for managing the administrative side of this opportunity. Keep up the great work!

Outstanding work by @WSPDTX Sgt. John Banner's shift overnight in apprehending an armed car burglary suspect that has now been linked to multiple offenses over the past two weeks. The department's leadership team and Patrol Division started noticing a trend in the S. Las Vegas Trail and Westpoint Blvd. corridor involving recent burglary of motor vehicles. A plan was created to put officers in unmarked cars in addition to regular patrol vehicles in an attempt to catch the suspect who was believed to be operating on foot between the hours of 1 a.m and 4 a.m. A break in the case came on Monday, June 8, 2026, around 2:18 a.m., when Sgt. Banner saw a suspect walking in the 1700 block of S. Las Vegas Trail wearing a hooded sweatshirt and blue latex gloves with a backpack (the weather was very warm for the clothing also). This description of the suspect matched some social media videos from citizens that were shared with the department. Immediately, a handgun was taken off the suspect inside the front of his pants that was linked to a car burglary from Mark Court the night before in the Sunview housing addition. Corporal Gasper Martinez, Officer Christopher Wiseman, and Officer Brian Leal arrived quickly to assist on the investigation. @WESTCOMMTX Dispatchers Sarah LeGrand and Kelly Dennis were on the dispatch consoles to assist in determining the offense locations and confirming the handgun was stolen. Detectives have determined that the suspect, originally believed to be from the Houston area, was staying at the West Worth Inn & Suites located in the 8100 block of West Freeway for the past two weeks. We believe this was his operating base to commit burglaries at night. Detective/Corporal Laura Gonzalez obtained a search warrant for the room and recovered additional stolen items (iPad, credit and debit cards, bags, purses, etc...) and numerous pawn tickets. As of this morning, we have linked him to six vehicle burglaries but we fully believe he is responsible for more offenses. Amazing teamwork and collaboration between our Patrol Division and Criminal Investigations Unit on sharing intel and getting this main suspect in custody overnight. 23-year old Dmarion Adrian King has been formally charged with felony Theft of a Firearm from a vehicle with additional counts of burglary of motor vehicles being added. He remains in the White Settlement Law Enforcement Detention Center. Incredible work over the past couple of weeks!

Congratulations to @WSPDTX Detective for Winning 2026 Multidisciplinary Team Ovation Awards from Tarrant County Alliance for Children Our department was notified that Detective Laura Gonzalez (who also serves in the Corporal rank) was selected as a winner of the 2026 Multidisciplinary Team Ovation Awards from the Tarrant County Alliance for Children. The Ovation Awards recognize members who have stood out in teamwork, integrity, compassion, or innovation. The department’s leadership team nominated Detective Gonzalez in March 2026 for her high level of integrity and follow-up on assigned cases while also seeking justice for victims. Following the initial nomination process, the Ovation Awards Committee chose three top finalists for each category in May 2026. During the June 4, 2026 Ovation Awards Ceremony hosted in Fort Worth, Detective Gonzalez was selected by her peers through a voting process across several North Texas police departments, Alliance for Children, external partner agencies and child advocacy groups as the winner of the 2026 Integrity Award. On behalf of our team, we congratulate Detective Gonzalez and the hard work that she provides to advocate and protect children across our community. This integrity award recognizes her dedication, teamwork, and diligence in protecting our most vulnerable child victims. We are also grateful for the strong partnership, team approach, and collaboration with Tarrant County Alliance for Children and Chief Executive Officer Julie Evans.

We were able to join Mayor Faron Young along with members of our City Council to honor Americans who gave their lives and served defending freedom at the NAS JRB Fort Worth Midway Remembrance Ceremony today. From the US Navy: “One battle forever changed the course of history. 84 years ago, America turned the tide in the Pacific by dealing the Imperial Japanese Navy a stunning defeat at the Battle of Midway, sending the four fleet carriers of the Combined Fleet beneath the waves. Though three more years of grueling warfare lay ahead, through the courage and sacrifice of American Sailors, Marines, and aviators, the United States would never again surrender the strategic initiative.” God bless the 🇺🇸

Outstanding work by @WSPDTX Sergeant Frank Blaustein's team this morning on recovering an occupied stolen car from Durant, Oklahoma that had entered our city at Silver Creek Road and Loop 820 Service Road. At around 9:49 a.m. on Saturday morning, our team responded to a @Flock_Safety license plate reader alert that a stolen vehicle was traveling eastbound on Silver Creek Road. Officer Thomas Hale was in the area and located the vehicle at a local convenience store in the 700 block of N. Las Vegas Trail. Additional responding officers to Officer Hale's location who assisted in the apprehension of the suspect included Corporal Will Poarch, Officer Jonathan Loser, Officer Stuart Totz, and Sergeant Blaustein. It was later determined that the suspect intended to continue his journey to California according to Durant Police Officers. @WESTCOMMTX Dispatchers Debbie Blaustein and Terry Nunley were on the dispatch consoles assisting with the call. GREAT WORK! CAR RECOVERED! SUSPECT IN JAIL!

We had a great monthly luncheon at the North Texas Police Chiefs Association with Chief Steve Dye in @Allen_Police hosting the meeting. 1st Vice President @MidlothianPD Carl Smith managed the meeting for President @HaltomCityPD Cody Phillips. @MansfieldPDTX Police Chief Tracy Aaron and Assistant Chief Jason Turpinat recognized four of their detectives after being selected to receive the NTPCA Officer of the Quarter awards. These detectives responded to a suspicious death call, where a four-year old child was also abducted from the home. With their incredible work and speed, the suspect was apprehended quickly in Missouri through mutual cooperation and coordination with local and state agencies. Outstanding work!

Today, just like many communities across our great nation, we gathered together to honor our military heroes who have paid the ultimate sacrifice defending our freedoms and way of life. We were blessed to have the Honorable Gordon R. England, our 72nd and 73rd Secretary of the Navy under President George W. Bush and the 29th Deputy Secretary of Defense, to serve as our guest speaker at today’s ceremony. A packed crowd listened to his remarks about the true meaning of Memorial Day and patriotism. Secretary England's message was timely as our nation prepares to celebrate our 250th anniversary. This was White Settlement's 24th Annual Memorial Day Ceremony as a military aviation community. We will never forget those who have given everything for our great country. God bless the USA! Please keep our Gold Star Families in your thoughts and prayers today. Special shout out to our @WSPDTX Honor Guard team for always performing with precision, skill, and reverence. It does not go unnoticed.

We really wanted to get this project across the finish line during National Police Week. Our @WSPDTX Honor Guard unveiled new street sign toppers that have been erected across town that serve as a visual reminder of the sacrifices that police officers have made in service to the community. Each sign was installed near the location where each officer’s last call for service occurred. We wanted to honor these fine officers who gave everything in service to our community. The blue line signs will serve as a permanent reminder for generations of citizens and officers to always remember our heroes. Special thanks to our Mayor Faron Young for serving as the introductory speaker and our City Council for approving the resolution for the signs authorizing the naming and placement at a private driveway and two public roadways to honor the three fallen officers who lost their lives during the line of duty. This was our fifth annual memorial ceremony on Tuesday, May 12, 2026. Our team was able to provide a duplicate sign to each family that honors their loved one. Family members representing the Gomez and Monier families were in attendance during this event. Outstanding work by our Honor Guard on the presentation of the Colors and Memorial Wreath during the ceremony. The singing of the National Anthem was performed by Samantha Byrd. We will NEVER FORGET: Corporal Albert Rene Gomez | End of Watch: July 27, 2021 Captain George Scott Monier | End of Watch: April 24, 2002 Captain DeWitt Wid Spivey | End of Watch: March 12, 1955
