Foundation Stone Laid for Malanjkhand Expansion Project
On 14 June 2026, Shri Sanjiv Kumar Singh, Chairman & Managing Director, Hindustan Copper Limited, laid the foundation stone for the Malanjkhand Expansion Project, moving towards 5 MTPA of Copper Ore Mining & Processing Capacity from it’s Underground operation,marking a significant milestone in the Company's growth journey and its contribution to India's mineral security.
The ceremony was attended virtually by Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Sinha, Director (Operations), Shri R.V.N. Vishweshwar, Director (Finance), Shri Ghanshyam Dasgupta, Director (Mining), and Shri Harsimran Singh, Chief Vigilance Officer ; Units Heads ; Corporate Office HoD’s along with Senior officers of HCL.
Shri Nagesh Shenoy, Executive Director & Unit Head, Malanjkhand Copper Project, along with senior officials from MCP were present on the occasion.
The expansion project encompasses several key infrastructure and capacity-enhancement initiatives, including 132 KV Main Receiving Substation, strengthening and capacity enhancement of the Tailing Dam; Medium Voltage power package, Main Mechanical Ventilator package, a new 3 MTPA concentrator plant, Service and Production winder packages, underground Crusher and dewatering systems.
The project underscores HCL's commitment to sustainable growth, operational excellence, and enhanced domestic copper production, supporting the vision of an Atmanirbhar Bharat through strengthened mineral and resource security.
