Stormont is listing old buildings but won't pay to repair them, so they're collapsing at an accelerating rate. This broken system isn't working for either buildings or their owners - while the Republic is spending vast sums to protect its built heritage.

Am thrilled to have been appointed as a Trustee of The MAC
Iām especially excited to help it do more to drive Belfastās cultural and civic conversations and support Northern Irelandās creative talents, all while being a place of warm welcome for everyone.
On March 11th, we welcomed our new trustees to the MAC. This gathering provided a fantastic opportunity to connect them with our management team in person, share ideas, and get aligned on where weāre headed.

We had a great time hosting the @WorldMonuments Fund staff at Carlisle Memorial to chat about our past and future work since the building was Watch listed in 2010.
Belfast is a great city, but swathes of it are crumbling, the dereliction is getting worse ā and the authorities seem powerless. Multiple issues are behind this but one is Stormont's failure to effectively use the rates system to push developers to act.
