Gly resistant ryegrass showed up in this paddock so changed plan from Oats to Barley so I can sell all off the farm at harvest so no resistant survivors will get trail feed to sheep, graded then sown high screening-low T/W Neo at 65kg/ha, probably should have halved that rate

Sowing 2026 done, last paddock was Koala Oats into an old Lucerne/clover pasture that I’ve just taken lambing ewes out off, was quite tight even with the moisture on top, will be either harvested or cut for hay with paddock going into crop rotation

Where are people getting oil change/service stickers for tractors etc, I used to have a roll but ran out, I asked at super cheap but it wasn’t a thing they stocked?

For those that share silly memes saying there’s no Chrismas Beetle or Buggs on windshields due to modern Agriculture, he’s both on the front of my truck that’s been carting inorganic wheat (whatever oxymoron that is)

Sheep people I did a worm test the day I drenched my merino lambs with a basic old school LV combi White/clear & then tested 14 days later, lambs went back on same paddocks, when you do drench resistance testing should you expect 0 or is this acceptable #sheep #merino #worms

Makes you second guess your decisions when you put your new fancy pants full figures rams in with your ewes & you can’t find them cause they’re the same size or smaller, good enough reason to go back to horns so they at least look Ram’y?

Started the creek pump up to top up some dams, very lucky to have pretty much a permanent water flow in our part of the Billabong Creek along with town water connection at front gate, Stock water going to be a big issue this summer for some in this part of the Riverina

Out EPR $ hard at work today, when you go feeding silage with your sowing tractor… the sharp edges of the free depth checker are good enough to take 6 layers of silage wrap off

My teenagers need to get better at finding their balls or I’m going to need bigger pockets for collecting them in the paddocks while I’m moving sheep, selling used golf balls back to them might be my biggest income stream this year

Didn’t have to worry about the tynes of the shearer combine pushing on the shed walls when the hydraulic rams crept, I got lucky this time & it hit a post & stopped, usually ratchet strap it to stop this happening, these older ones don’t fold far enough for weight to stay centred

Illabo Wheat looking terrible this year, SE Riverina, wasn’t even heavily grazed, just on canola stubble with low cover over summer, first patch is where water has ran off a track then rest is burnt off & tipped, 270mm YTD but only one fall above 10 mm since crop germinated

If anyone sells me dodgy tags that break they will not just be sending me replacements in the mail but cutting each one out & replacing them, no other industry has to put up with this rubbish customer service, here’s a new part but you have to take it out & put it back in
