you can get the guide curves to simulate almost realtime (in my case the Substeps and the Constraint Steps are a little high) which gives you a pretty good idea how the interpolated hair curves will move - then you bake the sim or else you'll run at 2 fps π«£

*this is a bit more readable render - although I think the new Paint Filter effect combined with the (also new) Dithering effect (blender 5.2 alpha - compositor) looks awesome!
