People experiencing cycles of incarceration and release are more likely to be homeless. And, being homeless makes formerly incarcerated people more likely to be arrested and incarcerated again, thanks to policies that criminalize homelessness. It’s a revolving door.

The HIV rate in prison is 3x the US rate. Most states also still criminalize HIV & there are concerning gaps in testing policies across the country. It’s time for the carceral system to get serious about public health interventions for this vulnerable population. #HIVTestingDay
