A little sad all the new content for CE2 is mostly from H2 and H3 and doesn't draw from the huge amount of the cut content that Digsite had previously spotlighted
Which is to be expected, most of it never even got canonized in the big encyclopedia a few years ago but I can dream
Still holding out hope for the last missing weapon that was officially in the game just exclusive to the PC port
Its genuinely so tiny it could be a visor outline
Elements should be easily readable from a glance or in peripherals especially now w/ 3rd person where you also lack the gun's built in counter
Look at H3 it's immediately obvious you're low without even looking directly at it
I know we have an ammo counter but if you're in third person you're relying on the HUD elements for this info and it's so damn tiny
They probably wouldn't have felt the need to slap an ammo counter on the needler if the HUD presented this information clearly enough to begin with
So random observation but I kinda want to know if other people thought so
Do the prequel cutscenes feel like they're "filmed" differently than the remake cutscenes? The camera cuts scream comedy movie but the remakes feel a little more videogamey (minus the slo-mo spirit)
The environments are goddamn gorgeous! Johnson also looks a bit better in motion even if I prefer H2A
Cutscenes are a little funny though the motion seems inconsistent? Sometimes Chief snaps into place so fast but then next scene he feels real sluggish. Visuals are crisp though
IDK I feel like there was a shift starting in HI in how they animate characters especially Chief but it varies scene to scene so I can't tell if it's intentional?
It's the same feeling of spotting a 3D background character in an anime except Chief is the main focus of the scene
so forget how they look. what in the hell are you supposed to do with paid character skin pack in a single player game? its literally a waste of money when you can only use 1. weapons at least are all different. what a horrible idea.
Its an ongoing issue that Halo is struggling to define Covie factions/splinter groups because theres no consistent design philosophy per group
HW2 Banished have a cohesive aesthetic but HI dilutes it with old Covie designs & CE2 reusing Infinite designs further muddies the water
I'm fine with future mainline games having unified designs going forward. The Infinite models are nice.
My problem is that these designs (while looking similar) are introduced way later in the games timeline and are from a completely separate faction, The Banished.
I literally don't know how to describe it but something about Infinite covenant just looks cartoony and I'm sad it's really carried over
It all seems cool there's just something visually off still
I'm sure I just sound like a hater because I can't articulate further but Infinite marked a definite shift in how things are animated and how the covenant look and it just feels uncanny
