🇺🇸 Immigration and Customs Enforcement has signed a $2 million contract with 🇮🇱Israeli commercial #spyware vendor Paragon Solutions. It is unknown whether the contract is for the deployment of Paragon’s flagship product Graphite. My latest for @WIRED. 👇 wired.com/story/ice-paragon-…

From Gaza to Iran, documented cases show #spyware increasingly being used for battlefield intelligence and military espionage, but researchers warn the public record may capture only a small part of its use. My latest for @techpolicypress. techpolicy.press/hidden-spyw…

“We shouldn't be wasting any capacity on talking to people who are not interested. So, the question is, what do you achieve with your presence and your participation? There's even a risk that you're going to legitimise a process in the end.” [9]

NSO continues to violate US law, 7 years after we caught them targeting journalists and civil society. Today, we’re seeking to hold them in contempt for violating a U.S. court order prohibiting them from targeting WhatsApp. Foreign spyware companies cannot be allowed to break U.S. law and endanger people’s private communications. We’ve also made our first donation to the Spyware Accountability Initiative - working with civil society is crucial to protecting people’s privacy. We’re grateful for all they do to help protect people.
