At her latest weigh-in, Brötchen tipped the scales at 10 kilograms, or 22 pounds, nearly double her birth weight. The zoo said she is developing well and steadily gaining weight. Pygmy hippos are typically solitary animals, and Debbie will raise the calf on her own.
