David Hockney: "We are now at the end of chemical photography. A new tool has arrived — the computer. The computer allows us to manipulate images, to use the hand… chemical photography only lasted about 170 years." From David Hockney: Secret Knowledge, 2002.
On David Hockney's Pursuit of the Digital Image (1985-2026) Of all of the 'famous' contemporary artist's of the era, Hockney (as well as Keith Haring) would engage the computer most persistently, sustaining acute interrogations of the digital medium across time. More Below.

Proof of concept finished. The idea was that the video artwork appears to be floating partially through the infinity box. Now to take it a bit a further but that's progress. Using Vortex by @bright_lightart because I love the work and its perfect for what I'm working on.

When every screen delivers a perfectly tuned signal, questioning becomes an act of resistance. What we watch, what we ignore, what we believe. The question isn’t whether technology influences us. The question is who decides which signal we receive. BRKRs exist in the space between signal and truth introducing noise, disruption, and doubt where certainty has become too convenient. Sometimes interference is freedom.

The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees. The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance. Access to all other Claude models is not affected. We apologize for this disruption to our customers. We believe this is a misunderstanding and are working to restore access as soon as possible. Read our full statement: anthropic.com/news/fable-myt…

In 2015, David Hockney returned to a subject Cézanne painted over a century earlier: men around a table, playing cards. He photographed his friends from many angles and assembled the images into what he called a photographic drawing, each photo carrying its own vanishing point. A Bigger Card Players entered our collection that same year. Hockney spent his life proving that new tools extend old questions. Paint, Polaroids, iPads, pixels. The looking never stopped. David Hockney, 1937–2026.

Since I'm waiting on components to arrive for every other project. I think I'll spend some time this evening putting the tesla coil, motion sensors, and running the wiring in this one.

One of my favorite generative Art on Bitcoin Vortex by @bright_lightart Some generative works showcase complexity. Vortex showcases elegance, simple mathematical relationships unfolding into forms that feel more like nature than code. If you haven't checked it out do yourself a favor and dive in vivid.gallery/generative/vor…
