September is Deaf Awareness Month! It's a time to honor the rich history, culture, and achievements of the Deaf community. At CSD Riverside, we empower our students to embrace their Deaf identity, culture, and language, building pride and awareness every day. Together, we CHAMP!

On Friday, we hosted a Teacher Resource Fair. Our teachers had the opportunity to gather resources for their classrooms while connecting with fellow educators. The event was a great success, and we are already looking forward to the next one!

See what's happening at ESY at CSDR! Last week was Super Hero Week. We focused on kindness as a superpower and encouraged our 'I Can!' attitudes. Students made affirmation capes. They also worked on 'The Giving Tree,' Our students have been busy with lots of great activities!

CTE and Thrive hosted the CTE Career & ASL Village, spotlighting students' work experiences, programs, and Deaf-owned businesses, alongside info and svcs for the Deaf. The ASL Village featured 10 booths providing opportunities for conversation practice with ASL students.

Another amazing year of CSDR's 5th Annual 5k Run! Students from grades 5 to 12 rocked the track, with everyone enjoying the fun vibes. Little ones breezed through a mile around campus, while the older crew conquered the 5k challenge.

CAC is hosting a workshop titled "Civic Engagement in Deaf America" presented by Dr. Stern on February 20 at the CSDR Social Hall from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. ASL and Spanish interpreters, childcare, pizza and drinks will be available.

It's the year of the Dragon! CSDR's very own AAPI club celebrated the Lunar New Year on campus with our students! Students and staff came together to enjoy traditional festivities. It was a wonderful way to embrace the joyful learning of vibrant culture and traditions.
