Most methods of sparse coding or ICA assume the 'pre-whitening' of inputs. @cstein06 shows that this is not necessary with a smart local Hebbian learning rule and ReLU neurons!

What I learned on a Friday night:
Tutivillus, the literate demon introduces errors into texts. He also makes monks mispronounce words in prayer. Later in Hell they must carry sacks of words they mispronounced.

Clarifying, we wanted to experiment broadcasting from a few selected workshops. We planned to use cameras from high-end smartphones or tablets, which are very good and accessible. But Youtube restricts streaming from phones and tablets to accounts with >1000 subscribers.

Unfortunately, there was not enough time to organize, for this (Youtube still hasn't unblocked the feature today) and other reasons. Maybe next time. :)
