Last week, some of our Welding students participated in a regional welding competition at Bingham High. All students did well! Congrats to Ande, Nariska, and Evan who took first place in the team fabrication event, and Wes who took first in the individual competition!

We’re so excited to have the foundation poured on our new project house for Construction Management! We are thankful to @sandycityutah for providing this land for us. Students were able to go in this week to drill the holes for plumbing.

Mr. Hampton, our Construction Management instructor, is representing CTEC & the Utah Association of Career & Technical Education (ACTE) well this week @ the national ACTE conference. He taught a breakout session on best practices for teaching students who learn with their hands.

Another CAPS project in the books! Our Business Leadership CAPS and Construction Management programs collaborated on a playhouse to enter into the Festival of Trees! This was a great project for our students to work on together and a lot was learned by all who were involved.

Mr. Dalton Magee, our welding instructor, had some visitors today to bring him a special gift! Mr. Magee applied for a Canyons Innovation Grant from the @canyonsedfoundation to provide supplies for his students to build drift trikes and other innovative projects for his class.

Our Criminal Justice students toured the Salt Lake County Jail today. It was a great opportunity to learn about all of the corrections careers, as well as see the facilities and how it all runs behind the scenes. *we couldn’t take pics inside 😂😬 #itsbetteratctec #canyonscte
