For the second year in a row, residents of Bloomfield have overwhelming voted against their town budget in a budget referendum, by a massive 87-13 margin.
However, due to a unique rule of "15% of all registered voters need to vote on the referendum for it to count", the results carry no weight and the budget will pass with no changes. Voter turnout was 27 votes short, at 14.8%
Opponents were angry at the outcome, as despite winning the vote two years in a row against the budget, nothing has happened. Supporters argue low turnout, means discontent isn't as high as people think.
