Plays with a high motor on both ends of the floor and brings an energy level that elevates those around him. His combination of strength, athleticism, and body control allows him to absorb contact and finish through traffic without being knocked off his line. What stands out most is his ability to process the game at speed. While living in the paint, he does an excellent job reading backside defenders and identifying help rotations. Rather than forcing difficult attempts, he consistently creates quality opportunities for teammates, generating weak-side kickouts that lead to open perimeter shots and efficient offensive possessions. In transition, he is a constant problem. Excels as a rebound-and-go playmaker from the point guard position, securing defensive rebounds, pushing pace, and immediately creating advantages before the defense can get set. His ability to control the break, collapse the defense, and make the correct read results in productive possessions on a consistent basis. Athletically, he possesses the burst and physicality to attack gaps aggressively and keep defenders on their heels. His willingness to live in the paint creates offensive pressure that opens the floor for everyone around him. Whether scoring through contact, creating for teammates, or igniting transition opportunities, he impacts winning by consistently putting defenses in compromised positions and forcing difficult decisions possession after possession.

For the guards, it looks like King Gibson will be the top target. Originally from North Carolina, he plays for Team Final NC on the EYBL circuit but goes to Spire Academy in Ohio, playing for the same HS coach that Liam McNeeley played for. At 6’5 185lbs, the staff compares him to Silas Demary Jr. Ranked #3 overall by Rivals and top 7 on every major website. Considered to be the #1 combo guard in the class. Top 2 schools involved right now seem to be UConn and Arkansas, but Kentucky, Michigan, LSU, and NC State are also recruiting him heavily.

Hurley was out in Vegas watching the NBPA top 100 camp this week. Demarcus Henry seems to be the priority forward of the class. The 6’8 200lb lefty plays for Vegas Elite and attends Compass Prep in Arizona. He was just ranked the #3 overall player in the class by ESPN, and is a consensus 5⭐️ recruit. Played with Colben Landrew on Team USA U18 this year. “UConn’s a winning program. He’s (Dan) a big time coach, and it’s a blessing a big time program like that offered me. They always win, they’re always in the NCAA Tournament and playing for a championship.” Other schools involved are Arkansas, BYU, Kentucky, Louisville, and UNC.

Lots of depth this season. Top 3 backcourt in the country, if not the best. The only thing I’m worried about is our center rotation. It took tarris a season to adjust to UConn. Likely the same deal with Hines. Oskar definitely needs work to be the backup as well.

UConn has landed a commitment from Northern Arizona transfer Isaiah Shaw, sources told ESPN. 6-foot-8 wing averaged 8.1 points and shot 46.4% from 3 last season. Scored 21 points against Arizona State in December. Started his career at Grand Canyon.

Will be very interesting to see which guard the staff really pursues this summer/fall. King Gibson and Jordan page are both very good prospects. Ranked inside the top 10. Page is a 6’6 lefty SG, king is more of a 6’5 point. Cayden daughtry is another kid to keep an eye on
