With the current technology, cant really see a good case for space data centers. So much more economical on land. Free solar shielding and convection based heat transfer that does not need to scale with surface area. The other issue with space is also anyone can jam the signals coming out at a relative low cost making it a sitting duck for such an expensive endevour. The other way which somewhat makes sense is to do smaller modular GPU satelites instead of a massive data center but that would limit the scale of the compute for training models. For inferencing this might be ok. Feel free to correct the thinking here if im wrong. Interesting to think about in any case.
