It started with a phone call and ended with 12,000 victims receiving $12 million in compensation. My investigation exposed Connecticut State Police secretly recording attorney-client conversations, triggered federal investigations, helped change Connecticut law, and earned the George Polk Award and the American Bar Association’s Silver Gavel Award. The lesson was not that sources matter. I had learned that long before. The lesson was this: A single incident can be a mistake. A policy suggests a system. And one cockroach usually means there are more behind the wall. More watchdog stories coming. Tips welcome. #InvestigativeJournalism #Watchdog #Accountability

This is the man to listen to on how we can reduce our health care costs by a huge amount without sacrificing care.
If public companies knew to move away from the big HC conglomerates for their healthcare benefits, they could in aggregate save > 50b dollars. A year. Easily. That all goes to the bottom line. Give that a 20 multiple, and that's 1 trillion dollars more in value to the 150m people that own stocks.

How about revealing what they could have been investigating? And I’m sorry but the First Lady of California does not get a free pass. But I still love your attacks against Trump.
>>@StrictScrutiny_ : We have seen so many ham-handed efforts at these politically vindictive investigations and prosecutions … It just doesn't seem like Donald Trump has at all been deterred from attempting to do more of these politically vindictive investigations and prosecutions, even though many of them have gone down in flames.

Might be worthwhile to check the price history because the European ETFs are at record levels.
The AI frenzy is sending tech-company valuations through the roof in the U.S. and Asian markets. One country still offers some relative bargains. on.wsj.com/4uDsGQL

Anyone know if costplus is available in chain drugstores
I have connected with 4 smaller HC systems. When I told them how much they would have to change in order for me to invest, they all ghosted me.

MAGA folks keep lying about cash Obama sent to Iran. These are the facts: No — Obama didn’t “give Iran $1.5B.” The widely repeated claim refers to a $1.7B legal settlement the U.S. owed Iran from a pre‑1979 arms dispute. Part of it ($400M) was delivered in cash because sanctions blocked electronic transfers. Full fact-check from a nonpartisan source: factually.co/fact-checks/pol…

this guy is the real deal. well worth following
From the FT: "US investors are showing a voracious appetite to fund the AI race and put cash to work, agreeing to dole out more than $100bn in the span of a few days..." In tomorrow's FT column, I’ll be discussing the prospect of a growing imbalance between the massive appetite for capital market financing —across tech, government, and corporate sectors—and available supply. #economy #markets #tech #capitalmarkets @ft

Most Kindle owners are overpaying for books. Before you buy a Kindle book, check BookBub. It sends free daily alerts for heavily discounted Kindle books, often 80%-90% off. I just discovered many bestselling books are available for $1.99 or less through Kindle Daily Deals and other promotions. If you read regularly, this could save you hundreds of dollars a year. And who is going to be hurt most? MAGA folks in the lower income bracket. But they will only realize it after the midterms.

In real estate, it's location, location, location. In investigative journalism, it's sources, sources, sources. For nearly 50 years in Connecticut, readers and whistleblowers trusted me to expose corruption, consumer ripoffs and abuses of power without fear or favor. Today, I'm bringing that same watchdog journalism to a national audience. YOUR WATCHDOG Tips welcome.

Surprised that Melania and Elan aren’t on this list since they also lied on their applications and committed immigration fraud.
EXCLUSIVE: The Trump administration plans to announce it is seeking to revoke the citizenship of 17 U.S. citizens accused of immigration fraud, expanding its unprecedented denaturalization campaign, CBS News has exclusively learned. cbsn.ws/49LajBM

Reminder: Trump was president during the election he says was rigged, and when Dems were in charge he won — which means either they really suck at rigging elections or he is full of shit. (Hint: it’s the latter)

Covie is worth following. He is insightful and often funny. This was not a funny one. Too serious and true.
Shoutout to the Republicans who voted to cut a federal program that feeds pregnant women and young children on Thursday then go to church on Sunday. You're the real hypocrites.

Trump upset that he hasn’t convinced everyone of his big lie that any election won by a Democrat is rigged.
WOW -- Trump crashes out and cuts his interview with Welker short as she presses him on his lack of evidence for claiming elections are rigged "You're either crooked or you're stupid. Let's call it quits. Because I've had enough. Thank you darling," he tells her." "I traveled all the way to Wisconsin for this interview," she pleads.
