You know what, fuck it, we ball. 50 movies all with the same actor and (almost) under the same director. Time to dive into a Japanese popcultural milestone. One movie a week.

Every few years I remember that one Tora-san movie I watched in around 2010 and am like "let's do this, let's watch all 48" and then don't.

Tora-san, the Good Samaritan (1971) is probably the film that so far has the least going on outside of the usual doomed romance - which this time almost happens! But I do miss the view into the problems the supporting cast is facing.

Tora-san's Love Call (1971). The neat thing about these films is how grounded they are. Tiny windows into the life of characters. The traveling theatre group that's a dying breed in 70s Japan, having to return home to mother's funeral, the dollar crash leading to economic anxiety

I ended up really liking Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One. Good story, different moral conclusions to the cases, fun gameplay (turn on combat skip), the town they crafted is a pretty setting and they really like to go for creative camera angles and scene blocking in the cutscenes.

One interesting thing playing this during Pride is how much queerness is in this game. There is an AFAB character living his life as a man, a case with both gay and bisexual men in it, a bordello offering a gender spectrum, and of course Sherlock like so often is very aro-coded.

Twink death this, twink death that. And here's Furukawa Yuki at the ripe age of 38 regularly looking younger than his 20-something co-stars. Clearly it's just a skill issue.

Didn't know what to expect from a 2h(!) film based on a concept as short and simple as Iron Lung. Or one directed, written and acted by a professional Youtube clown. Turns out it's a very Ok movie that's def too long.

Played Walk the Frog. A short, cute, little puzzle game where you put the pieces of the world together... and have a frog make friends and find love!

I hope the new Castlevania is like the previous Metroidvanias in the franchise, a.k.a piss easy, I'm tired of struggling with Soulslike Metroidvanias. Katsuya Terada supremacy tho \[T]/

Onimusha Demo was fun, but man that boss is super quick. As someone who only played the very first game, there are a lot more mechanics to keep in mind in this new one. Can't wait to forget and never use half o them in the full game like when I play Souls.

There is something admirable about the Frogwares Sherlock Holmes games. They usually don't get any press outside of the Adventure Gaming niche, they don't even review particularly well, but they've been fully dedicated to keep making them for over two decades now.

Brought to you by me getting reminded of the franchise's existence thanks to Chapter One being 5 bucks (unlike the other two entries I've played years ago, I quite like this one so far, actually!)

There must exist a secret society somewhere that enjoys fighting Kushala Daora for them to put him in the trailer even.

Finally, they are remaking one of the shitty ones. Hopefully Veronica can finally shine, but there really is only up from the original.

Copy protection but the game just slowly turns into Drakengard.

I discovered Mostly Walking when they were still in whatever King's Field they played first and watched them for about 2 years straight. Every once in a while YT recs me another video of theirs, and it's kinda nice getting a reminder they are still going 10 years later.

Trying to get into Infinity Nikki a year after release is like trying to play a 10 year old MMO. Inpenetrable feeling amounts of mechanics/systems, a menu full of icons constantly screaming there's something new to do. I get anxiety just looking at it.
