As the A.I. wave fuels a data center boom, leases of those facilities become the basis for further lending. Music royalties are also getting attention for asset-backed finance. Even leases for freight trains and phone towers are being used to lend against.
Never read too much into one month's CPI. That said, two potentially stagflationary* signs in today's: core goods firmer than expected. This is the category most exposed to tariffs. Second, drop in airfares, corroborating airline guidance, a sign of weaker discretionary demand.
