TrueAllele Investigative Database (TAID) generates and stores DNA genotypes from both simple and complex DNA evidence. TAID also compares genotypes from evidence to other evidence. You don’t need a specific suspect to get a clear picture of crime in your county. TAID will give you information about the number of contributors and the match strength to identify repeat offenders and strengthen cases for prosecution. hashtag#DNA hashtag#TAID hashtag#investigation hashtag#lawenforcement hashtag#sheriff hashtag#countypolice

The DNA in Nancy Guthrie’s case has officially been declared “low level.” That means traditional methods of analysis will likely fail to produce usable results. TrueAllele has helped solve hundreds of cases, many of which are complex mixture or “low level” cases. We can’t know if we can help until we have the data. msn.com/en-us/news/insight/l… #NancyGuthrie #MissingPerson #BringNancyHome #NancyGuthrieCase #DNA #Mixture #Cybergenetics #TrueAllele #TrueCrime #KidnappingCase #Abduction #Arizona #Tucson #pimacounty #sheriffs

Nancy Guthrie’s kidnapping is teaching America about a long-time institutional problem with DNA interpretation. Investigations are often put on pause for months waiting for results that often return inconclusive. Nancy can’t wait. Let us examine the data, and we will likely identify DNA profiles to move this case forward. cbsnews.com/news/nancy-guthr… #NancyGuthrie #MissingPerson #BringNancyHome #NancyGuthrieCase #DNA #Mixture #Cybergenetics #TrueAllele #TrueCrime #KidnappingCase #Abduction #Arizona #Tucson #pimacounty #sheriffs

As we enter day 27 of investigating Nancy Guthrie’s kidnapping, the investigation seems to have stopped, waiting for the DNA to catch up. Because the DNA is mixed, normal methods will take months to a year to solve. TrueAllele can solve this mixture in weeks. Cybergenetics has been solving complex and low-level mixtures for decades. We routinely separate five, six, and seven person DNA mixtures. Let us examine the data, and we will likely identify DNA profiles to move this case forward. cbsnews.com/news/nancy-guthr… #NancyGuthrie #MissingPerson #BringNancyHome #NancyGuthrieCase #DNA #Mixture #Cybergenetics #TrueAllele #TrueCrime #KidnappingCase #Abduction #Arizona #Tucson #pimacounty #sheriffs

Check out this news clip from Dr. Greg Hampikian discussing DNA from the Guthrie case. Dr. Hampikian has worked closely with Cybergenetics on many complex DNA cases in the past with great results. Cybergenetics will gladly take a look at the complex DNA mixture as part of our TrueAllele® screening and could yield more informative results as Dr. Hampikian says "in hours." linkedin.com/posts/greghampi… #NancyGuthrie #MissingPerson #BringNancyHome #NancyGuthrieCase #DNA #Mixture #Cybergenetics #TrueAllele #TrueCrime #KidnappingCase #Abduction #Arizona #Tucson #pimacounty #sheriffs @SavannahGuthrie @PimaSheriff

The DNA narrative in Nancy Guthrie’s kidnapping is flawed. The consensus is that because the DNA is mixed, it could take months or even up to a year to solve. This is false. They also say that unless there is a clear primary contributor the technology doesn’t exist yet. This is false. Low level mixtures are easy for TrueAllele®. Cybergenetics has been solving complex and low-level mixtures for decades. We routinely separate five, six, and seven person DNA mixtures. Let us examine the data, and we will likely identify DNA profiles to move this case forward. tinyurl.com/4faanmbm #NancyGuthrie #MissingPerson #BringNancyHome #Tucson #Cybergenetics #DNA #DNAUpdates #TrueCrime #CrimeTok #NancyGuthrieCase #KidnappingCase #Abduction #Arizona #SavannahGuthrie

“I work violent crime. We don’t use DNA much. Why not talk to sexual crime instead?” If you work violent crime, you may be sitting on DNA evidence without realizing it. Firearms, magazines, and spent cartridges often carry low-level, mixed DNA that traditional interpretation cannot fully resolve. That does not mean the lead is cold. TrueAllele has supported nearly 100 ammunition-related cases, and even with multiple contributors and minimal DNA, it can produce match statistics that reach the millions. If you are not looking at ammo evidence this way, you might be missing one of the most actionable sources of DNA in your caseload. #FAQ #DNA #Forensics

Post 1: “Why are our screenings complimentary?” At conferences, we’re sometimes asked why our screenings are free. Because TrueAllele cannot be tuned to a preferred result. We cannot change settings to “get the answer you want.” A screening simply shows what the data supports, period. So the screening answers one question upfront: Will this sample produce a reportable TrueAllele result, and how strong is it likely to be? Our reliable casework service is everything that matters after that: the reporting, the explanation, and the courtroom communication that helps the result actually move your case forward. #DNA #forensics #FAQ

DNA mixtures are difficult to interpret because they’re not just one person’s DNA, you’re dealing with multiple possible combinations of the data peaks. Reason 4/4: Math Explosion Every added contributor multiplies the number of possible genotype combinations. At higher contributor counts, manual interpretation becomes harder to justify because there are so many plausible explanations. Case example: Ohio v. Slater Howell III DNA on a white plastic bag was a mixture from seven individuals, so it was sent for TrueAllele genotyping. Testimony described a match between the bag and Howell as 98 thousand times more probable than a coincidental match (and 224 thousand for the victim). cybgen.com/news/cases/Ohio-v… #DNA #ForensicScience

DNA mixtures are difficult to interpret because they’re not just one person’s DNA, you’re dealing with peaks that could be missing. Reason 3/4: Dropout Real crime scene DNA evidence isn’t clear cut like on TV. Low-level or degraded DNA can cause genetic alleles in the data to “drop out,” so parts of someone’s profile appear to be “missing.” That can make a mixture look incomplete or contradictory. Case example: Glenn Lyons (Reading, PA) A degraded mixture was found on the neckline of a discarded sweatshirt. The lab’s human review reported a match statistic of 42 thousand. TrueAllele used more of the degraded data and reported 9.46 trillion. #DNA #forensics 🔗 cybgen.com/news/cases/Pennsy…

DNA mixtures are difficult to interpret because they’re not just one person’s DNA, you’re dealing with different amounts of each person. Reason 2/4: Imbalance Sometimes one person contributes most of the DNA, and another person is just a small amount of DNA. That minor contributor can get lost in the dominant signal, especially when data is limited due to degraded or damaged samples. Case example: State v. Jerod Goodwin A private lab generated DNA data from fingernail scrapings but couldn’t interpret the minor component. On the same data, TrueAllele separated minor contributors and computed inclusionary match statistics to the defendant (reported as 309 thousand and 429 quintillion) #DNA #forensics cybgen.com/news/cases/South-…
