We are probably celebrating his birthday in (Linkonverse) Argentina π¦π· βΌοΈ
Linkon City (which is based on Shanghai) is at the antipodes of where we are spending his birthday β to the point the sun rises in Linkon the next day when it sets as his birthday ends and itβs summer there when itβs winter where we are. It is also a common tradition in Argentina, from what Iβve read, to wish a happy birthday by pulling on the earlobes of the birthday boy or girl.
The forest we explore at the beginning to find trees might be the Tierra del Fuego (Land of Fire) looking for trees called Lenga (Nothofagus pumilio) who, because of the extreme wind and cold, grow close to one another to support each other (like CalebMC π₯Ή). The terrain is also very rocky and difficult to navigate IRL thus why MC struggles a bit.
After that we spot a bird which is probably an Andean Condor which is the national symbol of six countries of Latin America and among them Argentina. It has massive black wings which is why MC thought it was a plane. I found out that the Argentine Air Force (Fuerza AΓ©rea Argentina) uses it as a symbol especially for the F-16 Fighting Falcon they bought to the Danemark and the Air Force in Argentina call them Condor Vipers.
Something else I like to think matters is that the flag of Argentina is white and light blue which one of the interpretations is that it represents the color of the sky and the clouds. Thereβs also a sun in the middle, El Sol de Mayo, which is an Inca sun βοΈ called Inti, the Sun God of the Inca Empire.
One more potential reference is Route 613, called a βwell known local routeβ in the game, famous enough to draw people from all over the world. It could be a reference to the Ruta Nacional 40, one of Argentinaβs most iconic roads which is 5,000 km (3,107 miles). The longest road in the world. To put it in perspective, thatβs roughly the distance between the West and East coasts of the United States.
Lastly, this one is probably a huge fetch but it concerns the boy who loves planes and want to become a pilot that we met who is named Iann. Because I was curious I looked if it was a popular name in Argentina and apparently it was one of the most popular names given to boys in 2025 as they seem to be fond of Scottish names recently. But it doesnβt seem to be the case for the mother Aemma.
Suffice to say I love the meticulous informations put in that fantastic card βΊοΈ I learnt so much and I hope you learnt a thing or two too π
