Why do we always react like this whenever a piece of art (books, movies, songs) depicts our sordid reality, either in terms of fraud, drug or any other social vices?
I really don’t think any Nigerian should indulge, review or endorse this book. We need to realise how much this stereotype further goes in how we are perceived as a nation. Pls by all means, the author can write his book but we don’t have to engage it and amplify it.

More like 100k. This is how we build sprawls over land the LG has no plan for. Nothing in this world justifies this asking price unless the LG has gone ahead to install utilities for future living. You don’t pay this price then start doing borehole and soak away

Those things should come first. This is land you can charge 150m for. The local government using capable companies has gone ahead to install water lines, sewage and gas lines. This way the LG has a control of every house and knows how to plan fire stations, hospitals e.t.c

Nah. The author is right. Running away from the truth doesn’t make it less so. I can certainly tell you that it’s not a stereotype. It’s an epidemic.

There are no upsides to street trading. They don’t handle food in sanitary ways, they’re a major source of the filth on the road medians. Why has the state continuously overlooked them when a law has been passed years ago to stop it?

Ekiti has been doing this before y’all. Fayemi’s first deputy governor was a woman and this was in 2010. Current deputy governor is a woman. It y’all that’s just catching up

This Germany Curacao game shows why the expanded World Cup is so embarrassing. Can you imagine a serious team losing 7-1 to Germany before all these new teams were let in?

Lagos already got the urban planning wrong, and Ìbàdàn, with all this land and a fraction of the population, had every opportunity to do it differently. alas. elected, appointed, our leaders na mid upon mid. a representation of the people.
Ìbàdàn (not Òyó) is bigger than Lagos in landmass, with less than a half (prolly a quarter even) of Lagos's 25m population. most of the houses in this photo and close to this Akálà Express road were not there 5 years ago and you're still seeing houses packed like this. smh.

It’s been one weekend but so far the World Cup is following the pattern of every previous World Cup and Olympics: tons of negative stories about infrastructure, costs, people not buying tickets etc and then it starts and it’s amazing
