The great crossword constructor and editor Bob Klahn passed away in September. I hadn't even heard about this sad news at all until seeing Matt Gaffney's tribute to him on his website here. xwordcontest.com/2023/11/mgw…
I received a survey regarding a hotel stay at Quality Inn that I never took. The guest had the same email address as me. That should not happen. QI says that they got the booking from booking.com and suggested that I call them. But... /1
/2 It's impossible to get cust. service from booking.com because I do not have a confirmation number. I can't. It's impossible. It was not my hotel stay. But booking.com won't listen to that without a confirmation number. That's some catch, that catch-22.
Apparently the other guy's hotel stay was entered under my Choice Privileges rewards acount, and that seems like the way the hotel got my email address. But that's wrong and needs to be fixed. I got a copy of his receipt.
@bookingcom Seeking help regarding survey about hotel stay I didn't make. Guest had the same name as me, but survey came to my email address. Hotel says booked via booking.com and referred me to you. /1 of 2
SO FRUSTRATING. I sent another email saying 2 or 3 times that I had no confirmation number, and please not to ask me for one again. But the reply to that message asked me for the confirmation number. You must have some way to offer help without a confirmation number.
@SNY_Mets I'm watching on Jersey City Fios and I am not getting closed captioning in the game. They work fine for the ads when available. I also tried the SNY app via Verizon, and also sny.tv desktop browser, same story. Captions matter.
Is Twitter seeding the feed with the "R*P H*rvey" tag? It seems the only way I see the tag is to talk about the tag. Having tags you can't trust seems like a way to destroy engagement.
I pulled up an old tweet, and it was followed by "more tweets" containing an apparently limitless number of photos of people in provocative dress and/or poses. I've never indicated any interest. Is this what Twitter is recommending for me?
I think baseball is doomed. People hate it so much they want the rules to get things over with as quickly as possible. And the post season? Fans hate it so much they play games 5, 6, and 7 are played only "if necessary."
@pc_optimum An account was set up with my email address without my knowledge. It was linked to two cards and then 160,000 points were redeemed minutes later. I notified PCOptimum and Loblaw within minutes. ....
I received a few notifications by email about the activity with the account, but I was never asked to confirm the email address when the account was opened. ....
Customer Care (Loyalty) asks to confirm this info by phone. I expressed my reluctance because I'm hard of hearing, but gave them a number to call. Unpleasant waiting. Ive already forwarded to them all the emails I received (including all the email technical information).
Counterfeit Stamps - USPIS uspis.gov/news/scam-article/… via @uspis
I've seen dozens of FB ads for deeply discounted stamps. I assume they're counterfeit, and have reported many to FB for fraud. But the ads keep coming. Does FB screen for fraud, and why does this continue?
