Iām learning a-lot about the importance of social media in pushing conversations that are often ignored. But it also can push cynicism & lack of charity. We can be bold and passionate w/o being unkind. I have needed to repent & most likely will again. We can be better! 1/2

The church (I know broad brushā¦) has largely denied #LGBTQ individuals the grace of entrance into its communities, yet offers to be a part of our healing and finally shames us when anger, frustration and disillusionment spill out!

Challenge: when you see leader not leading well, ask, "If I were the leader here, how would I have done this differently?"
Criticism is important, but that alone won't get us (or those we criticize) to solutions. Let's be in the habit of practically trying for something better.

Some of you are on your last stop before leaving Christianity! I see you, I get you, and honestly, Iām not far from you. Trying to fight for Jesus is exhausting and feels hopeless when itāsagainst a church that in all expressions often shames when a bruised reed needs deep care.

Amen pastor, I would add that it should also be easy for us to include in that prayer protection for LGBTQ individuals in this country who are still very subjected to cruel discrimination, bullying, and violence (apparently). The church must respond and do more. So letās say it!
