Havent been able to stop thinking about Mahmoud-9yrs old. Instead of playing video games like my son, he now needs his mom to scratch his nose. Today at the store, I see him on front page of the NYT. “Poor boy” says the cashier.” “Israel is doing this with our weapons” I respond. “There’s something we can do about it.”

An important step. All parties to the Rome Statute, International Criminal Court (ICC) and the International Court of Justice (ICJ), including Australia, must abide by these rulings and reinforce the importance of a world where all people can be justifiably confident in the equal application of international law. And all States are required under international law to take action.

International Peace Day is on Saturday. Peace is closer when every country can rely on, abides by and respects the rights of others under international and humanitarian law, and human rights norms. The law is very clear on this issue. Support for this resolution should therefore have been absolute.
