Pulmonary/critical care physician, epidemiologist, raising a daughter on the front range and living with septuagenarian Korean immigrants. Opinions my own.
RFK Jr is a danger to public health. I’ve heard him speak enough to realize that he doesn’t know how to interpret scientific papers. He is someone with an agenda who cherry picks studies and flat out misinterprets studies to support his agenda.

Trump has the National Guard troops picking up garbage and mulching cherry trees. I think he’s onto something. Why can’t we have a civilian corps that assists with beautification work? Municipalities can’t always afford all maintenance work, but if there was a shared workforce…
I worry for this next generation of physician scientists. I was on this track to be a physician researcher and probably would be today if I had met with success at the right point in my career. My timing was off, and I chose to be a full-time clinician.
I’m saddened by the innovations and discoveries that now won’t happen to advance medical care in my lifetime. Sadly, we may never know what we missed out on.
When someone who has suffered brain death is taken off a ventilator, there is nothing but stillness.
In the room, you can feel the grieving loved ones almost willing something to happen. But, stillness.
I was in this unfortunate situation again recently, and I tried to brace the family against the nothingness of it all.
A young husband and father brought such clarity by saying, “we are now just wishing farewell to the electricity that remains in her body.”
