Within 20 years we went from being able to buy new radios for our cars from best buy to having every part VIN-locked and non-replaceable It's not hard to see where it will go next: - Government surveillance technology - Ads on the head unit - Subscriptions to unlock basic features - Locking joyrides to conserve energy - Banning you from going to certain places - Driving you to the police station if you disobey The goal is that you will be controlled by the things you buy
