Last year, I received an invitation from the chairman of the board of Narxoz University in Almaty to come and lead a two-day workshop at Narxoz Business School based on my book Hidden Investment Treasures. I was quite surprised, because at that time the English translation of the book hadn’t been published yet, and I certainly wouldn’t have expected an invitation from that part of the world. It was a great honor for me and, at the same time, a challenge, because putting together 14 hours of content and then delivering it all myself over two days would be a first for me. I returned from Almaty today, and my impressions are very positive. I was thrilled with the university, the Business School itself, and the caliber of the workshop participants. It was my first time in Kazakhstan, and it’s impossible not to fall in love with this country. The people are incredibly friendly and hospitable, it’s super safe everywhere, and the nature is beautiful. I also tried to learn more about some local companies, and I’m always interested in how people who live in a completely different part of the world than we do here perceive the world.
