To that end, Jimmy Evans of PPM Sports Turf opened his shop to an agricultural class from Jefferson County High School. Jimmy was accompanied by an impressive variety of industry professionals in sharing their knowledge with the students. You don't have to wait for anyone to issue orders. You can attend employment fairs and career days on your own. Your friends and neighbors have children who might be interested in turf management if they know more about the career path from someone they see as successful in the profession. There are a multitude of ways to encourage students, and it's a rewarding experience to engage and mentor young people.
