Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito took a luxury fishing trip to Alaska with billionaire Paul Singer, whose hedge fund then had repeated business before SCOTUS over the years that followed.
Alito never disclosed the trip or recused himself from Singer's cases. (THREAD)

#CFA's research found that #NY drivers w/ a perfect driving record excellent credit pay $730 a year for basic insurance. A driver with the same driving record poor credit pay almost $2,100. That's auto #insurancediscrimination.

On March 23, Cruise committed a "driving" error and crashed into the back of a city bus in San Francisco.
On April 4, Cruises CEO blamed car crashes on "human" error.

Cruise, and everyone else in the AV industry, is lobbying to write rules that allow them to avoid responsibility for *driving* an automated vehicle.
If we crash into a bus, we get a ticket or face a claim for negligent driving. Cruise is fighting to avoid this responsibility.

ADS developers should be responsible for the driving behaviors of their vehicles. They won't become *better* drivers if we let them off the hook.
To accomplish this, our laws should acknowledge them *as the driver* so we can hold them accountable for driving related errors.
