PhD researcher @EUI_History. Chasing radicals, revolutionaries and rabble-rousers around the 19th cent. Mediterranean. Fooling around on radiocavolo.org
Let me tell you how we just got HARASSED by the police in our workplace, because we were **existing** too close to European authorities at the @EUI_EU#StateoftheUnion#SoU
J’ai l’honneur de vous annoncer que les 23-24 mars aura lieu à Nice à la @MSHSSudEst le colloque sur la « civilisation du journal » en Méditerranée @cmmc_mediterr
Diffusion zoom prévue, inscription : julien.contes@univ-cotedazur.fr
Programme 👇
Actually happening 8-9 December! Come hear some of my brilliant colleagues at @EUI_History on how to overcome the nation-centrism of archives - either online or in-person if you're in Florence
How can we write a #GlobalHistory of Europe without placing the European nation-state at its centre?
On 8-9 November, join a workshop on methodologies, archives and sources in the context of our initiative "What is European History in the 21st century?" 👉eui.eu/events?id=552859
Today, 1st of May, is a good day to remember that at the EUI PhD researchers are paid differently according to their nationality, even though they are expected to live in the same place and achieve the same levels of excellence.
Research is work. Equal job, equal pay

So happy to have been a part of this. It's only open access until Friday so make sure to download soon, not so much for my own dorky contribution as for the brilliant and touching pieces by my co-conspirators.
Great first morning at colloque on the 'histoire continue' of 1871 Commune. A fantastic occasion to discover new work on the Communes and hear reflections from more experienced historians
pleiade.univ-paris13.fr/even…
Jean-Louis Robert's call to see the Commune as an 'oeuvre' whose many lines historians are called to decipher and put in relation with each other gave much food for thought
And very much looking forward to afternoon sessions on the Commune's afterlife and relationship with Europe tomorrow's program which includes gender perspectives and what will be an inspiring discussion on how to publish on and represent the Commune
Not only does Radio Cavolo have a beautiful new website, we also have a brand new episode of D.A.T.E. (Don't Ask the Experts) coming up!
I'll try to get some fun and quirky anecdotes out of profs. Pieter Judson and Alexander Etkind at 6pm CET today on radiocavolo.org
Really excited for our first Mobility Talk on Friday! @DominiqueReill is going to take us on quite a wild ride through Fiume and beyond. Don't forget to drop me or @canbuffi a line for a Zoom link.
Lucy Riall and Giorgio Riello shared their life experience (and some music!) at the “DATE - Don’t Ask the Expert” show on the EUI researchers’ web radio Radio Cavolo mixcloud.com/RadioCavolo/dat…#AcademicLife#HistorianLife next "DATE" live on Monday 28 Sept. at 18.00 Florence time!
