It is so funny how anthropic just willingly forfeited the vibes frontier this week and then on Friday night the trump admin, which hates them, handed it right back to them

Quite literally one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen. An unsolved crypto system that even the NSA can’t crack. And Dan had team have acquired the solution. But didn’t look at it! But they have created a path for people to try to crack it using some fancy cryptography. Based.

There is a mysterious copper sculpture at CIA headquarters with an encoded message. Even after 35 years, the final piece of the message remains unsolved. We bought the solution from the artist who created it, encrypted it so that even we don’t know the answer, and set up a way to automatically check solutions. To help hone your skills, we created a new challenge: ten Kryptos-like puzzles of increasing complexity and difficulty. The first person to solve each puzzle will win $1,000, with a $10,000 total prize pot. Watch the full video, learn about Kryptos and its creator, Jim Sanborn, and try your hand at the puzzles: paradigm.xyz/kryptos

We love puzzles, so we acquired the secret to one of the most notorious puzzles in cryptographic history. Kryptos is a sculpture at CIA headquarters with an encrypted message on it. The final 97 characters of it have never been solved. Here's what we're doing with the solution.

We designed these puzzles in part to help people make more powerful automated solvers. A standard technique for building better tools is to set up evals to test whether your technique is actually working. If you can beat all 10, you may be closer to being able to beat Kryptos!

We have the solution to Kryptos, one of the last great cryptography puzzles. But it’s a secret, even to us.

Releasing this tomorrow
Looking for an engineer with TEE experience (or confidence in your ability to learn it) to hack with us on something extremely cool Not blockchain-related and will never become a company, but can compensate you for your time, plus will get to be part of a unique piece of history

I find this observation from Scott Aaronson very unsettling There's a possibility that some famous conjectures (like Collatz or Goldbach) might be like this—true for mundane statistical reasons, but unprovable

If you’re proud of your really sophisticated skill or harness, try benchmarking it against a simple one-sentence prompt as a sanity check Codex, Claude Code, and ChatGPT Pro are really, really good

I have started a collection of essays, blog posts, etc discussing AI in mathematics. I do not agree with everything written, but all are valuable to read - the more different views the better! Please reply with your own suggestions. thomasbloom.org/AIlinks.html
