I don't think this has been reported yet: #iOS18 adds the ability to directly control Matter over Thread smart home devices from iPhones with Thread radios (15 Pro and newer)! No home hub needed, though you will lose out on remote, out-of-home control.

Wow - #Apple is shipping Thread across iPads and Macs! We designed Thread at #Nest back in 2013. Our very own Grant Erickson lead the dev work & industry partnerships, Isabel Guenette Thornton named it, Matteo Vianello and Colleen Piché designed the logo and Anton Oenning was point on Messaging & MarCom. As @verge @jp2e said about me in her article a couple years back (and yes it remains true!) I’m 'excited about the validation of Thread as a kid at Christmas.' It also reminds me how long deep tech takes for broad adoption. But, when it’s the right thing, it’s the right thing.
